Wat Doi Suthep

About 16 km northwest of Chiang Mai, sits an enormous temple, Wat Doi Suthep. It sits atop a mountain overlooking the city of Chiang Mai. It was built in the 14Th century and is considered the holiest temple in northern Thailand. The best way I know to describe our time there is interesting. Temples are architecturally beautiful but for me, carry an overwhelming spiritual heaviness. As we walked past dozens of golden Buddhas, monks and worshipers all I could do was pray that God would some how show these people the lies they believed in. We saw person after person buying incense to burn at Buddha's feet and flowers to leave as a gift. People walked in circles around the "main Buddha" that sits in the center of the temple chanting and burning incense to appease this god. This act brought me to tears. Hundreds of people bowed and prayed to these idols situated all over the temple. Giving them gifts in hopes that their good deeds would give them passage into a better life once they left this one.

Isaiah 41:29 says " See, they are all false! Their deeds amount to nothing; their images are but wind and confusion."

Rev 9:20 "....they did not stop worshiping demons and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood- idols that can not see or hear or walk!"

Please pray for the people of Thailand. They are a nation in desperate need of the truth. We hope that the day we learn the language comes soon so that we can share with these lost souls the love of the ONE TRUE GOD.
